Lower Blepharoplasty Recovery: What to Expect

What is recovery like after lower blepharoplasty?

I think about lower blepharoplasty recovery in three main ways: how you look, how your eyes feel, and what you can do.

1. How will I look after lower blepharoplasty?

The first part of recovery is bruising and swelling.

For most patients, it takes about two weeks for the obvious bruising and swelling to subside after lower blepharoplasty.

2. How will my eyes feel after lower blepharoplasty?

The second part is how your eyes feel.

Expect some dry eye and eye strain for about two weeks after surgery.

3. What are the restrictions after lower blepharoplasty?

The third part is what you can and cannot do during recovery.

For my patients:

  • No strenuous exercise until day 11
  • No makeup for two weeks
  • No contact lenses for two weeks
